Grapefruit Cooler

The drink for this month is quite an interesting beverage. It is totally my creation. We once had a few grapefruits that had been sitting out for a while, and were needing to be used. I didn’t want to waste them, so after obtaining Mom’s permission, I used them to concoct a yummy drink in our blender. The grapefruit adds a tart kick, but this drink is still sweet and very refreshing. You will definitely want to strain it before drinking.

In your blender, put 1/2 cup water, 2 large grapefruits, 1/3 – 1/2 cup sugar, and 10 ice cubes. Blend on high for 1 minute. Pour through a strainer and enjoy! :)

Have a lovely Friday!

Oh, I love grapefruits! :) Have you ever tried stevia in place of sugar for this type of thing? If so, did it work, or did it have that “too-sweet” stevia aftertaste? Thanks for sharing, Brookie! I’ll have to make a grapefruit smoothie next time we have a few sitting around… :)
    P.S.
You need to teach me how to create my own recipes. Every time I try, it turns out to be an absolute disastrous failure. :) :)

Using stevia is a great idea, Hannah! Yes, sometimes it leaves an aftertaste, but if you used the right amount, I bet it would turn out wonderfully (and healthier!).

Oh dear, more times than not my recipe creations do not turn out! :) Usually I just stick to tweaking recipes. :)
    Missing you, dear friend!

Yum…..even though I have always disliked grapefruit, this sounds really good! I will have to try this sometime. Thanks for sharing! :)

Hi there, Kaitlyn! I’m not a huge fan of grapefruit either, but I liked this, so I hope you will, too! :) Thanks so much for your comment!
